Welcome to the AFC Bathhouse Blog!
Hoping to finish construction by May 18

We’ve made excellent progress over the past five days.  Most of the drywall is up, and it has been taped and mudded.  The stucco work on the guardhouse is almost complete, and it’s received a coat of primer.  A lot of the plumbing has gone in, and the handrails for the stairs were installed last week.  The new fences have started to go up and the tiling on the shower stalls is moving forward nicely.  Most of the windows have been built and the glass will go in next week.

There’s still a lot to do , but our goal is to wrap up all of the work by Friday, May 18.  However, we won’t be able to open until we pass our County inspections and receive our Occupancy Permit.  We’re hoping to complete that process early the following week and be able to have a soft opening before the Memorial Day weekend.
We apologize for the delay and want you to know that we’re doing everything possible to open the club as soon as possible.  The construction crews are working 7 days a week, often until sunset.  We meet on a daily basis with our builder and architect to discuss the progress and work through issues as they crop up.  It’s going to be great when it’s done.  Please bear with us while we get there.
Thank you for your support and patience.

T-Minus 10 and Counting …

Can you believe it—only 10 days until our scheduled opening on May 12! Summer always seems to arrive early at AFC, well before most other pools open.

Construction continues at a rapid rate—the crews have been working 7 days a week, and are often there until dark.  Everyone is working diligently toward a May 12 opening, rest assured. However, there’s still a lot to do before we get our final inspections and occupancy permit from the County.

We’re going to do everything possible to open on May 12, but we can’t promise we’ll make it. Check back here for the latest and greatest.

And be sure to check out the latest photos below.

The stucco is now being applied to the new lifeguard office (which used to be the old bathhouse).  It will be painted once the entire building is done.

The siding on the buildings has started to go up.  It’s prefinished, so there’s no additional work required—once it’s up, it’s done.
